The Fashion Files :: Tips for Staying (or becoming) a FFM (Fashion Forward Mommy), was created because I want to show moms that they can be moms and fabulous simultaneously.
While on my mom-cation (aka maternity leave) for about 14 weeks or so, I met so many wonderful moms and formed some great friendships. However, there was one trending comment amongst many of them that I just couldn't stand to hear any longer. That comment was, "I'd rather my kids look good than me". Now, as nice as that sounds, to me, its borderline sad. I often wanted to ask, "Why can't both of you look good?" or "What's up with this one or the other stuff - is there a rule out here that parent and child can't look fabulous?"
I want to use a portion of this blog to show moms that being a Fashion Forward Mommy (FFM) doesn't require that you sacrifice the appearance of your child (or in some cases, the mortgage money), it just takes a little extra time and creativity.
At least once a week, I intend to post photos of new mom style options. Ones that you can effortless duplicate and will hopefully take some of you out of the mindset that looking great has to be a mom or kid sacrifice.
